*The Keizersgracht, named after Emperor Maximilian I of the Holy Roman Empire,[1] is the widest canal in the center of Amsterdam, one hundred feet, i.e. 28.31 meters. Remarkable detail is that Keizersgracht was dug later than Prinsengracht (which was dug in 1614), while Keizersgracht is the second of the three main canals.
